Lisa is an IFBB Pro bodybuilder who began training in '96, won her first contest in '97, and earned her pro card in '99 by winning the Canadian Nationals Heavyweights... An very fast ascension in the bodybuilding ranks compared to most!
Lisa says she eats clean year round, with more variety during the off-season, and tightening up her diet for contest prep. Her training is heavy, but strict. Lisa has become a strong voice in the women's bodybuilding world, bringing attention the inconsistencies in her sport; with it's judging standards, public perception, cultural biases, and female objectification as some of the major points of debate. Lisa states that "To me, it's about sport, about training, about being a competitive athlete. Women want to participate in a sport as athletes and just want to be respected for what they do". Editors Note: The debate continues... and we'll be adding our 2 cents to the debate in pages here on WCM's "In the News". We applaud Lisa in her attempts to bring change to something for which she has strong conviction and passion, and wish her the best in her endeavor... and beyond.
